It is sometimes referred to as utility computing.
PaaS
Platform as a Service in the Cloud is a platform and infrastructure software development tools provider. Developers build applications in the Internet platform provider. PaaS providers are using the API, the software on the bridge of PC client or web portals installed. Currently there are no standards for interoperability and portability of data in the cloud.
SaaS
In the Software as a Service cloud model, the manufacturer offers a software product and the physical infrastructure and interacts with the user via a portal frontend. SaaS offers a wide market for services. Webmail services can be something based database processing and inventory control. The end user is free to use the service anywhere, because the service provider hosts the application and data.
The idea is not new, but this form of cloud computing is a new life at Amazon, Sun, IBM and others can offer this instant virtual storage server and access to the request. The company can replace parts of the data center by the affected utility computing.
